Life and Practice

Russ Ligtas is a poly-disciplinary artist presenting installation, performance, and choreography to confront the vagaries of his immediate reality. In his confrontations, he manifests alter egos, infiltrating public consciousness as presence, persona, and myth. He was a fellow at the 16th Iligan National Writers Workshop (2009), a recipient of the AET Koryograpiya Award (2017), an Asian Cultural Council grantee (2017-2018), and a member of the ADAM Artist Lab in Taipei (2018). His most recent works include “Planet Blue” for the Yokohama Triennale (2020) and “Pluto” for the Casa San Miguel Center for the Arts in San Antonio (2021).
